Dedicated Service Honoured at Chickadee Luncheon

Our annual Chickadee Lunch held again this year in January at Heather Lodge in Minden was a great success. There were 35 attendees, with good representation from the Kawartha Lakes unit. Thanks for the support. We welcomed and acknowledged 2 new retirees: Susan Genosko and Ann Tamlin.

This year’s door prize, created and presented by Ruth McLennan, was a beautifully crafted box with a chickadee pyro-graphically etched on the top. Stephanie Rapjohn was the happy recipient. Milt Sheppard entertained us with his touching song, “The Wonders of Haliburton”.

President Roberta Fuller presented Past President Wayne Cooper with the June Seizman award from the Provincial Executive for his dedicated service to District 18 over his 10 years on the Executive.

Many thanks to George Denny, Marg Valentine and Betty Mark for their assistance with the event, and to Maria Micaleff, chef James and their wonderful staff for a delightful afternoon.
