Searching for a Technology Volunteer

Have you ever found yourself with fingers crossed, just hoping a 30 or 20 year old ‘someone’ would magically appear just at the moment of peak frustration while you are earnestly using your iPad or iPhone when … you think you have lost your data or your Face Time connection, you can neither retrieve nor send those special holiday pictures, you want to learn some of those keyboard ‘secrets’ you have heard about,
or, how to save battery power?

Your RTO -ERO District 18 might be able to help!

Our hope is to offer 2 or 3 mini-workshops to those members who wish to become more efficient iPad , iPhone users this fall.

If you are someone who can offer to share your expertise instructing effective ways to maximize the use of our Apple iPads and iPhones, we need you.

Please e-mail Marilas McInnis at mjkokeshi3@gmail.com to ‘talk’.

You are Needed to Support the District

The executive, based on direction and feedback from the membership, has sought to provide past service in three major areas:

  1. Communication with the members on issues related to Pensions and Health Services using newsletters, email blasts and our website.
  2. Providing subsidized social activities that are both proven and successful and that offer opportunities to have fun and learn. By using vouchers, we give back to participating members of the district.
  3. Ensuring our district’s opinions are known at the provincial office.

During my term of service (2007 – 2014) on the executive of District 18, Haliburton/Kawartha Lakes, I have held the positions of Secretary, Health Service Insurance Committee Rep, Political Advocacy Rep, 1st and 2nd Vice President and most recently Senator, Treasurer and President. (Yes I do have a life outside of RTO that is not impacted by this time commitment.) I have been the beneficiary of having two persons who have fulfilled the position of Newsletter Editor, Mike Catling and Pauline Johnson – both of whom have provided you with informative as well as nicely designed and presented information on the happenings in and around the district that would be of interest and benefit to you.
